About
While Jamie has substantial experience and knowledge with regards to treating a variety of disorders and issues, she strongly believes in a client-centered approach, where the clients are the experts in their lives. She can work together with the client to help them make changes that are meaningful to their mental health, which will ultimately help them live a life that is more aligned with their values and goals. Jamie’s specialty is in the treatment of eating disorders, and she has experience in Inpatient, Partial Hospitalization (PHP), Intensive Outpatient (IOP), and public school settings. She has supported clients in reducing symptoms, increasing their self-esteem, and addressing their body image issues. Depending on the needs of the client, Jamie draw from a wide variety of therapies to create an eclectic approach. This includes, but is not limited to, Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). Despite the approach taken, Jamie creates a safe space for all clients through providing empathy, patience, and validation, as well as being an active listener.
Jamie earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Special Education and Psychology, both from Rider University. She is also currently in the process of pursuing her Education Specialist (EdS) degree in School Counseling. In her free time, she enjoys being with animals (especially her dog, Bella!), listening to music, and watching Disney movies.

Why you are passionate about your job?
Jamie is passionate about providing mental healthcare because she believes that everyone deserves access to someone who can unconditionally understand them. She has many people in her personal life that have struggled with mental health issues, so wants to be there for others.
