Psychiatric Services

Victory Bay ensures all clients receive psychiatric services and that consulting psychiatrists are a part of the multidisciplinary treatment. Beginning with our intake process, our staff begins to collect information related to a client’s psychiatric well-being. All clients are seen by an ASAM certified psychiatrist within 10 days of admission at which time the use of psychotropic medications to manage symptoms is discussed. Our psychiatrists are also available to discuss medication options, process any potential side effects, and discuss the benefits of such an intervention.

What is a Psychiatry Program?

Psychiatry focuses on diagnosing, treating, and preventing emotional, behavioral, and mental disorders. Moreover, a psychiatrist is a medical doctor who specializes in preventing, diagnosing, and treating various mental health issues, including disorders associated with substance use.

Reasons people seek the help of a psychiatrist:

People may request assistance from a psychiatrist to deal with long-term feelings or to address problems that arise suddenly.

  • Ongoing restlessness
  • Desperation
  • Unhappiness

Long-term feelings can disrupt everyday life, making an individual feel as if they are not in control or that everyday life is somehow twisted.
