Licensed Social Worker
About
When I am not working, I play with my Shitz Zhu, Pluto. My ideal client is anyone looking to expand their lives beyond what they see as possible. As a former family support partner and peer advocate for parents of children and minors with mental and behavioral challenges, I encourage those with challenges to look at past successes. The client will be unmotivated because they will begin to feel that nothing can be changed in their lives starting now. My role is to assist and guide clients by increasing their support network. My potential approach to helping others would include establishing trust and rapport, completing an assessment, and inquiring about the client’s self-esteem while setting realistic goals. I would also help to break down the list of barriers to the client’s success by working together to find practical solutions, which might involve community resources or support groups and programs dedicated to their increased self-autonomy.
