What is An Outpatient Rehab Facility?

Victory Bay

An outpatient facility is a safe place where you can go and receive substance abuse treatment while also being able to maintain commitments to family, work, school, etc. Instead of living at the treatment facility like you would in an inpatient program, you can visit an outpatient facility on a needed basis. The requirements of your individual treatment program will determine the amount of time you spend in an outpatient rehab center.

At Victory Bay Recovery Center, our outpatient rehab programs typically meet for 2-3 hours per day, 3-5 days per week. That time typically consists of one individual therapy session per week and up to three group therapy sessions per week. Depending on individual needs, flexible scheduling is available. This is a great way to learn the proper steps needed to address and maintain your sobriety, while still being a part of the outside world and dealing with everyday life.

Services offered at an outpatient facility

Outpatient rehab centers and facilities typically offer a variety of treatment options and services that can be tailored to fit your individual treatment plan.

At the core of our substance abuse treatment programs are eight beliefs:

  1. Evidence-based treatment (EBT)
  2. Employment stability and life skills
  3. Structured sober living
  4. Advanced case management
  5. 12-step support groups
  6. Trauma informed care
  7. Medication assisted treatment (MAT)
  8. Sober culture with community connection

Services offered at Victory Bay:

  • Intensive outpatient program (IOP)
  • Mental health intensive outpatient program
  • Older-adults treatment system (O.A.T.S.) for ages 27 and older
  • Recover-safe program
  • Family therapy
  • Individual therapy
  • PHASES clinical program
  • EMDR therapy

Victory Bay also offers life skills training such as art therapy, nutrition therapy, job search/interview techniques, resume building help, and has yoga, a gym, and a personal trainer.

Our professional addiction treatment staff ensure that after your outpatient drug treatment program, you are fully prepared to re-integrate into your daily life and are armed with the necessary life and coping skills that will help you maintain your sobriety. Our staff of addiction treatment experts are always involved in training and learning about the latest trends in treatment and best practices.

Who would be a good fit for Victory Bay?

If you or someone you know has issues with substance abuse and needs help but isn’t able to uproot to an inpatient facility, an outpatient rehab program might be beneficial. At Victory Bay, we help those struggling with addictions to alcohol, heroin, opiates, and xanax as well as people who may have a dual diagnosis (a substance abuse problem with a mental health condition).

Outpatient rehab facilities are a good fit for people who:

  • Have responsibilities at home they can’t take a break from
  • Are in school
  • Want to continue working
  • Have a support system at home

If you need a more structured treatment program, you can choose one of our IOPs where a majority of your day will be in treatment, but you’ll still get to return home to sleep.

Benefits of an outpatient rehab facility

Here are some benefits of an outpatient rehab treatment facility:

  1. Fits your schedule

While inpatient programs have you in a facility 24 hours a day, our outpatient treatment programs allow you to fit rehab into your daily schedule.

  1. Helps you practice your new skills in real life

Since you’ll be going back to home, school, or work when you’re not in treatment, you’ll be able to use the new life skills and coping mechanisms you learn in therapy and treatment and apply them to real-life scenarios.

  1. Maintains privacy

We’ve all heard of that person who “went away for a little,” and most of us know that means they went to rehab. While there is no shame in getting help, sometimes you don’t want the world to know – and that’s okay. Outpatient rehab treatment lets you go on with your normal life, but with a little extra help.
