Sean Beckett, MA, LAC, NCC, CTP, EMDR-T – EMDR Specialist

Sean is a Licensed Associate Counselor in the state of New Jersey who has been practicing trauma work for three years in clinical settings across New Jersey. Sean is a Nationally Certified Counselor, a Certified Trauma Professional, and trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.

Sean’s clinical experience has focused on individuals experiencing trauma-related difficulties. As therapy may require vulnerability, Sean understands that trust must be earned and may not be given automatically. From that, Sean strives to gain the client’s confidence during each session and to gain the privilege of getting to know each person on a deeper level.

Sean’s theoretical framework investigates how past life experiences may directly influence present-day challenges for individuals. Specifically, the idea that an individual’s presenting problem(s) may be symptoms of maladaptively stored memories from the past. Sean utilizes EMDR therapy to help clients process maladaptively stored memories and to pursue adaptive functioning. Sean’s belief is that through EMDR, the client is empowered towards self-healing.
