VICTORY BAY

12-Step Program

At Victory Bay, we promote an extended care program because the longer a person stays engaged in treatment, the better their chances of achieving and maintaining recovery. Our distinctive care program continues our clients’ therapeutic work and teaches them to adjust to the daily aspects of living a sober life in the real world. We also promote participation in our 12-step program, which is a vital component of our aftercare program.

Peer-to-Peer Connection

Addiction thrives in isolation, which is why building supportive peer relationships is important. At our drug & alcohol rehab center, we match client groups based on similarities to create a solid foundation for recovery. We know older clients have different life experiences than younger clients. Many times, individuals are more comfortable being honest with people their own age. Of course, honesty and sharing emotions are critical to recovery. Therefore, clients are assigned to the most suitable group for their individual needs. However, we make sure all groups address the similarities in every person’s addiction path. We also stress the importance of creating bonds based on their unique journeys to wellness and recovery.

Sober Living

Recovery is not merely abstinence – it is learning to live and thrive in the greater community as a sober person. Victory Bay encourages clients to live in sober housing during treatment. We also strongly urge a continued stay in sober housing once their treatment has concluded. Sober housing allows newly recovering people to begin transitioning back into their communities while offering staff support and supervision. In sober housing, residents can continue participating in their clinical treatment. They can also attend 12-step meetings and begin to take on responsibilities. They’ll also develop accountability through required chores, house meetings, and periodic drug testing, helping them prepare for a life in recovery. During and after dual diagnosis treatment, sober living provides another layer of security and support for clients with serious mental health disorders. Supervision and daily responsibilities help each individual to adjust to their new life in recovery.

12-Step Programs

At our extended care program, we know living in active addiction is a 24-7 job, and learning to live in recovery can be confusing and unsettling. That’s why we encourage attendance at a 12-step program. These programs can provide a “design for living” for a newly sober person who is facing life’s challenges while maintaining sobriety. Attendance at an extended care program is available at all levels of care and provides an existing support system during and after clinical treatment ends. In addition, instilling 12-step attendance in our clients’ lives promotes a sense of routine and structure, which follows our clients into their societal return.
