Otherwise known as molly, MDMA was developed in 1912 and was legal until 1985. It was initially popular in the nightclub scene and became known as a “party drug” because of its effects of increased energy, emotional warmth, and distorted time perception.

Today, the MDMA sold on the streets is rarely in pure form and may include things like cocaine, LSD, heroin, amphetamine. This can pose a dangerous risk for those who use MDMA and can lead to a molly addiction; the most popular age group for this drug is 18-25 years old.

The Dangers of MDMA (Molly)

Symptoms

When a person ingests MDMA, their brain produces higher levels of serotonin and dopamine. This yields a “high” effect that can last up to six hours and because of the high, it can lead to MDMA abuse. Symptoms of molly use include:

What to Expect

Arrival to our facility

We will begin by coordinating your arrival to our facility. Victory Bay will work with you to ensure you are transported safely and quickly to our well-maintained facility. Once you have arrived at the center, you can expect to be greeted by our professional addiction treatment staff who will be expecting your arrival.If you are hungry – or maybe a little nervous – you can expect to receive a welcome meal, snack and a drink.

Intake

You will meet our Intake Coordinator, who will sit with you and begin the process by doing some basic assessments and paperwork. You will be scheduled to meet with your own personal Clinical Therapist with whom you will work with throughout your time here. Also, you will be scheduled to meet with one of our incredible Doctors to assess your specific needs.

Finally, with early sobriety, often comes lots of chaos in our lives. Our team will assess any and all areas of your life where you might need support and guidance. Our Case Management team will begin to plan a strategy for supporting you with any Legal, Employment, or Educational needs.
